I’ve lived in two worlds
I was born in the U.S. while my parents were completing their studies here. My formative years were spent with them back in their homeland of Nigeria.
Growing up in a country often marked by instability and division taught me how fragile communities can become when people stop listening to one another. Throughout my life I’ve worked to reject that path.
My experience shaped my values as an educator, where I emphasize the importance of open dialogue and mutual respect. My own studies in political philosophy have deepened my understanding of how communities think and work together — or not.
Thanks for your continued support.
It’s why, as your Town Councilor for the past two years, I have worked every day to model careful deliberation, prudent speech, and balanced decision-making. I’ve seen what happens when politics is driven by rancor. Amherst deserves something better — leadership that listens, respects differences, and builds bridges for the good of our community. It’s more important now than ever.
